Cookies

One cookie, and only if you say yes.

What is set

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits. If you allow it, Google sets two cookies on this domain, called _ga and _ga_BVGD9XCL22. They hold a random identifier so a return visit is not counted as a new person, and they last for two years. They are the only cookies on the site.

Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage under the name consent, so you are asked once per browser rather than on every page. It never leaves your browser.

Before you answer

Until you allow it, Analytics runs with consent denied. In that mode it sends a cookieless ping that says a page was viewed and nothing about who viewed it. Your browser also fetches the Analytics script from Google, so Google sees your IP address as part of that request.

Changing your answer

You have not chosen yet, so no cookie is set.

Saying no after saying yes removes the two cookies straight away. Clearing your site data has the same effect and also forgets your answer.

Everything else

Fonts, images and scripts are served from this domain. There is no advertising, no other analytics and nothing embedded from another site. The privacy page covers the rest.
